Horseback riding, hiking and bicyling are popular at the Hill Country State Natural Area, the largest in the state, or at other locations such as Lost Maples, Enchanted Rock or Garner State Park. Tubing and kayaking on the the Medina River are favorite summer activities. Summer also brings the fun and excitement of rodeos to Bandera, so bring your favorite cowboy/cowgirl attire!

Bandera is well known for its great music and dance halls. Grab your partners and kick up your heels for a little two-stepping.

Special events throughout the year include Riverfest, The Medina Apple Festival, Lakehills Cajun Festival, Hunter’s BBQ and Celebrate Bandera to name a few.
